About Us

Here in the heart of West-Central Iowa, a diverse group of talented musicians—professionals, enthusiasts, students—adults and children—155 players in all, come together to make lovely music as the Carroll Area Symphony. If you’ve not had the chance to hear them, you are in for real listening pleasure as the Symphony presents four concerts each year at the Carroll Recreation Center.

Serving as fertile training ground for the Symphony is the nonprofit All Strings Attached Studio, specializing in instruction of violin, viola, cello and bass for children and adult learners. Along with their role as Symphony musicians, All Strings Attached students have the opportunity to participate in large and small ensembles, including the 24-member Jazz Band, two small performing string ensembles and a brass choir, all under direction of conductors Ms. Rebecca Windschitl and Jacqueline Montgomery. In addition to the Symphony’s concerts each October, December, March and May, the various ensembles and small groups play a full schedule of performances throughout the Carroll area and beyond.

There are many ways that you can get involved with All Strings Attached. Registration for stringed instrument lessons takes place each June. Interested adult and student wind and percussion players are invited to audition for the Symphony before the start of each season. If you wish to be informed about upcoming performances . . . or how you can help provide financial support for our local musicians, please contact Rebecca Windschitl at allstringsattached@westianet.net
